This article shows you how to put your Levflex website on a domain you already own, such as www.yourgym.com. Your domain and any email on it stay with your current provider. You add one DNS record there, and Levflex issues a free SSL certificate. Custom domains are included on Growth and Pro, and during your trial.
Warning: Changing DNS records you don't recognise can result in your email or another site going down. Always add only the one record Levflex shows and leave your other records as they are.
Before you begin#
- A Growth or Pro plan, or an active trial.
- Sign-in details for where you bought the domain: GoDaddy, Namecheap, Squarespace, Cloudflare or another provider.
- Decide on the address. We recommend the www version, such as www.yourgym.com.
Steps#
- Go to Settings → Domain.
- Enter your domain under Custom domain, for example www.yourgym.com.
- Select Add domain. Levflex shows the record to add.
- Sign in to your domain provider and open its DNS settings.
- Add the record exactly as shown under Type, Name / host and Value / points to.
- Return to Levflex and select Check connection.
Which record you'll add#
| Your domain | Type | Name / host |
|---|---|---|
| www.yourgym.com (recommended) | CNAME | www |
| yourgym.com (no www) | A, or ALIAS / ANAME | @ |
Use the exact value Levflex shows on the page.
Common mistakes#
Adding a second www record#
Most providers already have a www record. Edit it to the value Levflex shows instead of adding another one.
Checking too soon#
DNS changes usually show up within an hour. Your your-gym.levflex.com address keeps working throughout.
Connecting on Starter#
Starter doesn't include custom domains. A domain connected during your trial stops working if you move to Starter.
When it's connected you'll see Your domain is connected. The secure certificate can take a few minutes.
