Why you can't cancel a contract yourself

A membership under a signed contract can't be cancelled online. You can still update your card; to cancel, contact your gym, which may end it with or without a buyout fee.

Some gyms ask members to sign a contract, for example a 12-month membership at a lower monthly price. While the contract runs, you can't cancel the membership online. Manage membership still lets you update your card and download invoices, but cancelling is a conversation with your gym. Your gym can end the contract early, with or without a buyout fee.

Warning: Letting your card expire during a contract can result in failed payments and an amount you owe your gym. Always keep your card up to date with Manage membership, even though you can't cancel there.

How you can tell you're on a contract#

  • Payments (web) says You're on a contract until a date. To cancel, contact your gym directly.
  • The app's Wallet says Your contract runs until a date, followed by contact [gym] to make changes to your membership.
  • Trying to cancel in the app shows You're on a contract — to cancel, contact the gym directly.

What you can and can't do online#

Ending a contract early#

  1. Contact your gym with the Message link (followed by your gym's name) on Payments, which opens a request with Membership or contract chosen. You can also use the Email or Call links there, or Contact the gym in the app.
  2. Agree the end date with your gym. It may end the contract without a fee, or with a buyout fee.
  3. Pay a buyout invoice, if there is one, with Pay under Contract buyout on Payments or the app's Wallet. You can pay by card or bank account on Stripe's secure page.
  4. Check Contracts afterwards. The contract shows that your gym ended it early, and the signed copy and the termination stay on record.

Common mistakes#

Deleting your account to get out of a contract#

Deleting your account doesn't end a contract. Your gym is told and decides whether to end it with or without a buyout fee, invoiced to your email.

Thinking Levflex can cancel the contract#

The contract is between you and your gym. Levflex can't cancel it or waive a fee.

Missing the buyout email#

If you see The payment link is on its way by email, the gym has created a buyout invoice and the link is coming by email. Check your spam folder too.

Troubleshooting#

  • Do you see a contract message but don't remember signing?
    • Yes
Open Contracts and select View / print to see the signed copy and its signing record. Then contact your gym.
    • No
      Go to the next question.
  • Has your contract end date passed but you still can't cancel?
    • Yes
Contact your gym. It may need to complete the contract.
    • No
Contact your gym to discuss ending it early.

When your contract ends, cancelling with Manage membership works as normal again.
