How-toMembers
How to start or cancel a membership
Subscribe on Payments or Wallet, then use Manage membership to update your card, see invoices or cancel in Stripe's secure portal, unless you're on a contract.

A membership charges you every month and adds the plan's session credits each time a payment succeeds. You start one with Subscribe and manage it with Manage membership, which opens Stripe's secure portal for your gym. There you can update your card, download invoices and, unless you're on a contract, cancel.
Warning: Deleting the app or your account doesn't stop a membership the way you might expect. Deleting your account cancels it straight away without a refund. Always cancel with Manage membership if you only want to stop paying.
Before you begin#
- Check the monthly price and sessions per month for each plan, for example $160/month · 8 sessions.
- Check whether you signed a contract with your gym. If you did, cancelling is done through the gym.
- Have a payment card ready.
Start a membership#
- Open Payments in the portal, or the Wallet tab in the app.
- Find Monthly memberships (web) or Memberships (app).
- Select Subscribe on the plan you want.
- Pay on Stripe's checkout page.
- Wait for the confirmation. Your first month's credits are added straight away.
Cancel or manage a membership#
- Open Payments in the portal, or the Wallet tab in the app.
- Select Manage membership. Stripe's portal opens in your browser.
- Choose what to do: update your card, view invoices or cancel your plan.
- Confirm the cancellation in the portal.
- Return to the portal or app. In the app the membership shows Cancelling with the date it ends. Changes can take a moment to show.
What cancelling does#
| Item | After you cancel |
|---|---|
| Future charges | Stop. The portal shows when your membership ends |
| Credits you already have | Stay on your balance to use |
| Upcoming bookings | Stay booked |
| A refund for this month | Not automatic. Ask your gym. See How to ask your gym for a refund |
Common mistakes#
Looking for a cancel button on a contract#
If you're on a contract, the portal lets you update your card and see invoices, but not cancel. The Payments page says You're on a contract until a date. Contact your gym to cancel. See Why you can't cancel a contract yourself.
Starting a second membership to switch plans#
You can only have one active membership at a gym. To change plans, ask your gym, or cancel the current one and subscribe to the new one when it ends.
Not updating an expired card#
When a card expires, the monthly payment fails and no credits are added that month. Update the card in Manage membership before it expires.
